The Mandia Regional Government conducted a civil defense drill Abhyas operation in Krishnaraja Sagar, which simulated three emergencies on Sunday caused by shipbuilding accidents, fires and explosions.
It was part of a national exercise ordered by the government after a deadly terrorist attack on tourists in Jamu and Pahalgam in Kashmir. Authorities said the exercise was intended to demonstrate coordinated efforts by regional administration, police, fire departments, health departments and other agencies, and highlight the precautions that the public needs to take.
The simulated scene involves a boat capsized at the boating point in the Blindawa Garden and immediately warns the control room.
This led to a series of actions by the authorities, leading to contact with the fire department, which rushed to the scene with rescue equipment to rescue passengers of the capsized ship. As accidents often lead to the integration of large crowds, it is difficult to allow rescuers to move freely, police intervene, control the crowd, and ensure smooth movement of firepower and ambulances.
Just like fires and police officers are at work, the health department’s medical and auxiliary teams are alerted to arrive at the scene to provide medical assistance to victims and to hurry up to need further treatment for people from the nearest hospital.
Another situation was also simulated as part of the exercise, involving a fire accident at a police hotel. The sirens sounded like they were to remind everyone, to control notifications.
During the fire drill, the person trapped on the first floor was rescued and put down safely, and medical assistance was provided.
The third exercise brought a bomb explosion, and the sirens sounded to remind the main players that they saw the bomb disposal squad searching the area while the medical team provided first aid to the injured injured.
Deputy Commissioner Kumar, Mandya Zilla Panchayat CEO Kr Nandini and police officer Mallikarjun Baladandi supervised the drill. In addition to NSS students and family guards, senior officials from various departments are part of the exercise.
