Maharashtra Vice Vice President Pawar opposes Hindi in school, saying Marathi will remain the top priority

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar criticized the parties for opposing the move to make Hindi a mandatory third language for Marathi and students in the state level 1 to 5.

He said those who oppose the decision are raising “unnecessary controversy that lacks practical issues”.

Mr Paval said: “Marathi is our native language and will always be the first to favor in the state.”

The State Schools Department of Education (April 16) issued a government resolution on Wednesday (April 16) to mention the implementation of the new curriculum phase in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 recommendations.

The Maharashtra government has decided that Hindi is the third language and must be essential for students in grades 1 to 5 of Marathi and students in English secondary schools in all states, which runs contrary to the practice of learning the two languages. Mr. Paval asserted that all three languages ​​- Marathi, Hindi and English are important, but Marathi will always prevail in the state. “The marathon must remain intact and continue to develop,” he said.

The three-language formulas in categories 1 to 5 are part of the implementation of the new course under NEP 2020.

The State Department of Education has announced a phase implementation plan for the new curriculum framework designed in accordance with the NEP 2020 school education recommendations.
