Maharashtra women's body writes to NCW to remove obscene content from web shows, app

The Maharashtra State Women’s Commission (MSWC) has written to the National Women’s Commission to remove obscene content from online programs and online applications, such as Ullu, an official said on Monday. MSWC Chairman Rupali Chakankar said many of the web series measures involved vulgar videos to increase ratings. She told PTI video: “We have written to the NCW and the Office of the Director-General of Police (DGP) that there are many such (obscene) videos that should be taken to such content.”
Chakankar said the state government had written to the DGP office last week to examine the content, audio and video of the online program “House Arrest” on the Ullu app, and the case should be conducted against the app.
Therefore, the case has been registered with Amboli police against actor Ajaz Khan, producer Rajkumar Pandey and others for suspected obscene content on the show.

Last week, BJP leader and MLC Chitra Wagh also demanded an immediate ban on “home arrests”, accusing its content of being harmful to society, especially to children.
