Legendary actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar celebrated his patriotic role, who died at the age of 87. He was called “Bharat Kumar” and he breathed his last breath at 4:03 am on April 4, 2025 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Ambani Hospital.

He was admitted to the hospital on February 21, 2025 and has been receiving medical services since then.

Manoj Kumar’s place of birth:

Born on July 24, 1937 in Abbottabad (now in Pakistan), Kumar’s journey from a young, aspiring actor to a famous film personality is remembered today.
Although his career began in the late 1950s, it was in the 1960s and 1970s that he truly became one of Bollywood’s biggest stars.

His portrayal of patriotic figures in films such as Upkar, Purab Aur Paschim and Shaheed made him a national idol and earned him his nickname “Bharat Kumar”.

His most compelling achievements include his directorial debut at Upkar (1967), a huge success and won the second-in-time Best Feature-Long Film Award. Over the years, Kumar has won several prestigious awards, including Padma Shri in 1992, Dadasaheb Phalke award in 2015, and numerous film awards.

Kumar also chose to pursue a political career after retirement. He officially became a member of the Bharatiya Janata party before the 2004 general election in India.
