Mamata Banerjee says

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Monday that Trinamool MPs would not participate in foreign delegations from multiple parties, asserting that there was no formal request for nomination to the “mother party”. However, she clarified that Trinamool Congress supports the country’s interests and supports the Foreign Policy Center.

Banerjee said the centre had nominated Yusuf Pathan, but the party conveyed that he would not be part of the delegation. “The Parliamentary Party was informed, but it only works during parliamentary sessions. It cannot make policy decisions,” she said.

“Today, they do not inform the parent party, only the parliamentary party,” Banerjee told reporters on his way to North Bangladesh. “If the request is submitted to us, we can consider it. We support the best interests of the country and do not hesitate to support the Foreign Policy Centre.”
Banerjee, who is also the chairman of the TMC parliamentary party, stressed that the center cannot decide on the representatives of one party without consultation.
