West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the Fire Shooting Hotel in Central Kolkata on Thursday (1 May 2025) and announced that those responsible for the deaths of 14 will not be spared.

Ms. Banerjee returned from Digha to the Mechua Falpatti area of ​​Burrabazar and said a special committee consisting of police, administrative and fire departments is being established to monitor and identify agencies that violate fire safety regulations.
“The convoy will conduct surprise inspections in cities and district towns. Those in the government are guilty of oversight and handing over the operating NOC to the building, which will also be punished for the scope of punishment,” she said.

“The team will prepare the report and submit it to my office within the next 15 days,” CM added.
