The 53rd anniversary of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Damodaram Sanjivayya was observed here on Wednesday.
Senior Party leader and former member of Congress, Minister V. Hanumatha Rao, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, British Columbia Commission Chairman G. Niranjan and some others paid rich tribute to the Sanjivayya statue at LB Stadium. Later, they also paid tribute to Sanjivaiah Ghat.
In this speech, Mr. Hanumantha Rao praised Sanjivayya as a great man and a role model for young people, and despite being the Chief Minister, he emphasized his humility.
Minister Prabhakar took Sanjivayya as an example and reiterated the Congress party’s commitment to social justice. He announced plans to write to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, named the Kurnool District after Sanjivayya and renamed it to his honor. TPCC Secretary General R Laxman Yadav and others participated in the program.
