Manipur: Torch House of armed personnel, curfew imposed in the Kamhon area

Guwahati: Unidentified armed personnel set fire to burn several houses in two villages in the Kamjong district of Manipur on Wednesday. Regional administrations have imposed indefinite curfews in both regions.

This incident occurred when most residents of Gampal and Haiyang Villages in the Sahamphung subdistrict of the region were farming in their fields.

Kamjong District Magistrate Rangnamei imposed an indefinite curfew in both villages starting at 2 p.m.
Under the order, the DM also prohibits any person from acting outside his residence under Article 163, paragraph 1 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

Peter said under official order: “This kind of riot could lead to a serious violation of peace, endanger the peace of the public and pose a risk to human life and property.”

A crucial advisory meeting will be held on April 30 to discuss the Free Movement System (FMR) across the India-Manma border and a reserve permit (PAP) was held in Nagarland.
The Nagaland Interior Ministry has held a meeting, with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio attending the meeting, two deputy chief ministers Tr Zeliang and Yanthungo Patton, Parliament Speaker Sharingain Longkumer, Deputy Speaker, all ministers, all ministers and members of Parliament.
An Interior Ministry official said all MLAs, advisers, chief secretary, as well as other senior state officials and leaders of 27 other civil society organizations will be present.

The official said the one-day meeting will also discuss peacekeeping in Nagarland following recent political developments and implementation of the Internal Line Permit (ILP).

A full-party delegation led by Chief Minister Rio will soon meet with trade union home minister Amit Shah to discuss decades of Naga politics and fear the border fence and FMR on the Indian-Manma border.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) announced last year that the FMR allowed people living along the India-Manma border to travel 16 kilometers without a visa to enter each other’s territory and would soon be scrapped.

On March 7, the Nagaland Parliament unanimously decided that the entire party delegation would meet with the Union Home Minister to explain to him “the emotions and resentment of the Naga people” to oppose the MHA’s decision to cancel the FMR between India and Myanmar.
