The Kukizo group in the history of the conflict in Manipur decided not to interact with the center or its representatives until the “substantive political dialogue” with the armed groups was restored.

Leaders of state and civil society organizations (CSOs) and extremist groups gathered in Munipur on Friday (16 May 2025) under the Moratorium Action Agreement (SOO) agreement to return to normal options.

“We are determined that until the Indian government resumes substantive political dialogue with the SOO group, the CSO and elected representatives will no longer interact with the Indian government or its representatives,” a joint statement said.

The center signed in SOO in 2005 with more than 20 extremist groups of the Kuki and Zomi people. They were accused of participating in the conflict with Meiteis.
