Biker seeks witness after death in New Plymouth

A cyclist was killed in a collision in New Plymouth six days ago, but so far, New Zealand police have not hit the culprit. Now, investigators are asking for public help to find out the details of the accident

The tragedy took place at the intersection of Powderham Street and Edgcumbe Mount Street on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at around 12:35 pm. After emergency personnel responded quickly, the cyclist was taken to the hospital.

But despite medical efforts, he died of his wound on Tuesday (April 15). It was reported that the rider was carrying fishing equipment at the time of the accident.
Investigators are currently searching for witnesses nearby when the collision occurs. Any dashboard that may help rebuild the event that leads to the event is of interest to them.
