Donald Trump sends a message directly to China saying we haven’t ended tariffs

Trump played the accelerated timetable to summarize the possibility of a deal, saying any agreement would be reached at some point. “We don’t hesitate,” Trump said, according to the Associated Press.
The president later said: “We have a lot of countries who want to reach a deal. Frankly, they want to make more deals than I do.”
There is growing concern about the global uncertainty arising from the escalating tariff war.
The Trump administration has imposed tariffs on most parts of the world, believing that other countries have taken advantage of the U.S. advantage, as evidenced by their trade deficits. But with the 90-day pause, the White House raised Trump’s tariffs on China to 145%, while individual tariffs on Canada, Mexico, automobiles, steel, steel and aluminum are as high as 25%.
On Wednesday, Trump met with Japan’s chief trade negotiator Ryosei Akazawa. Trump summed up the meeting on social media that “great progress!” but he did not provide any specific rules. He said South Korean officials will visit Washington next week.
