Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that India and Pakistan have agreed to a “complete and immediate ceasefire.”

Trump claimed that U.S. mediation played a key role, praising the leadership of both countries for choosing “common sense and great intelligence” to reduce the crisis, marking a moment of cautious relief amid a turbulent regional standoff.

Trump shared an article on the social media platform truth, “After a long night mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and direct ceasefire. Congratulations to both countries on their use of common sense and great intelligence. Thank you for your attention!”

A day ago, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said of the U.S. efforts to mediate the conflict between India and Pakistan that the U.S. intends to eliminate tensions between the two countries.

Levitt said U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has been in talks with leaders of the two countries to downgrade.

“This is the Secretary of State and now our national security adviser, Marco Rubio, is very involved. The president hopes to see this relegation as soon as possible,” she said.

Levitt said the conflict between the countries is ancient and negotiations are underway to prevent further escalation.

“He knew that he had a good relationship with both leaders and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, whom I spoke with yesterday, during his long time in the Oval Office.

Asked if U.S. President Donald Trump would personally contact leaders in these countries to try to reduce this situation, Levitt said: “If this happens, we will definitely tell you.”

Meanwhile, Trump expressed concern on Wednesday (local time) about the escalating situation between India and Pakistan and said he would provide any possible help to eliminate tensions along the India-Pakistan border.
