Minister MSME provides help to mango growers in AP

Visakhapatnam: MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas assured everyone that everyone can help farmers grow more mangoes and get higher prices in the market, with special attention to exports.

Srinivas admitted at a buyer sales meeting organized by the gardening department in Vizianagaram on Saturday that while farmers are growing mangoes on a massive scale, their prices are not getting better.

He stressed that “farmers should learn the technology to develop higher quality mangoes, which has achieved high prices in the international market.” He advised farmers in the state to learn the technology adopted by farmers in other states in terms of growing export quality mangoes.

During the meeting, officials delivered PowerPoint speeches on harvesting quality mangoes, packaging, transportation and marketing.

Bututhi Rajasekhar, the special chief secretary and head of the North Andhra District, made it clear to farmers that if exports to global markets, they must improve the quality of the fruit. He advised farmers to reduce the use of chemicals and focus on natural agriculture.

Rajasekhar said the gardening workshop will be held in all regions to educate farmers, adopt new technologies and methods of growing quality fruit.

Those present at the meeting included Nellimarla MLA Lokam Madhavi and MLC Suresh Babu.
