Ajith Kumar’s films see growth on Good Friday, over Rs 20 billion worldwide

The action comedy “Good Ugly” directed by Ajith Kumar-starrer and Adhik Ravicandran is the highest Tamil movie of the year. The film also includes Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Karthikeya Dev, Priya Prakash Varrier, Raghu Ram, Jackie Shroff, Simran, Shine Tom Chacko and Yogi Babu among others.
What an ugly cross Rs 2 million
The Tamil action comes Good Bad Ugly, headlined by Ajith Kumar as the retired gangster AK aka Red Dragon, has set the box office on fire since its release on April 10. The Adhik Ravichandran directorial has already become the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2025 and is the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of the year behind Vicky Kaushal-led Hindi period action drama Chhaava, Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Malayalam action thriller L2 Empuraan and Venkatesh-Starrer Telugu action comedy Sankranthiki Vasthunam.
In the first eight days, Bood Bad Eugly received a network of Rs 11,915 crore in India, with a global box office revenue of Rs 1.9 crore. According to early estimates, Ajith Kumar’s film charged Rs 6.75 crore on the ninth day, i.e., on Good Friday, according to early estimates. The film earns Rs 1.45 crore more than the price of Rs 53 crore on Thursday. This also means that the ugly ugly has now crossed the global box office of Rs 2,000 crore trademark.
The production company Mythri filmmakers also shared the latest news about the film’s journey through milestones on social media, with posters of “Box Office Shaking Blockbusters.” It is titled “Mass Sambavam is shaking the box office. What an ugly ugly hit rate of $100 million worldwide.”
In addition to Ajith Kumar, the good and bad are also ugly, including Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, and Sunil Sayaji Shinde as guest appearances.
The latest Tamil blockbuster is Ajith Kumar’s second release this year. He used to be seen in the action thriller Vidaamuyarchi, which reappeared in February 2025. The director of Magizh Thirumeni, who also starred Trisha Krishnan as the leading lady, was a commercial failure as its global budget of Rs 135.65 crore violated the Rs 20 billion.
