Nalgonda: A 45-year-old man was electrocuted and killed while fishing in a local pond in Chillapuram, Miryalaguda Mandal on Sunday, police reported. The victim was identified as Bodduply Narayana in Chillapuram village, in contact with live wires connected to nearby agricultural pumps, and suffered fatal injuries on the scene. Miryalaguda rural police have registered the incident and are investigating the situation surrounding the electric incident.
Officer suspended for seeking bribes
Warangal Police Chief Sunpreet Singh suspended Constable G. Balaji and Constable N. Raju of Tarigoppula Police Station in Jangaon District on Sunday after an internal investigation confirmed that they alleged they solicited bribes from the defendants in exchange for favorable treatment. An investigation by senior police found that both demanded the suspect’s money. Commissioner Singh immediately issued a suspension order for the effect of these findings.
