Meet Miss World contestant from the subcontinent, no representative from Pakistan

Hyderabad, May 11: Beauty representing 110 countries, including India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh, is currently fighting against Hyderabad’s 72nd world champion. However, with the military conflict between India and Pakistan over the past four days, Miss Pakistan has become prominent due to her absence.
Representatives of the Miss World Contest said it had nothing to do with the conflict.
“Pakistan has never participated in Miss World. Anyway, unless in rare cases – Pakistan in general for international beauty pageants.”

This year, India is represented by Nandini Gupta, who comes from Kota, Rajasthan.
Gupta is investing in marketing for an inclusive world and vows to transform lives of different abilities through her “Ekta Project.”
Gupta said in a video posted on her official Instagram account that she was inspired to work for different willing rights after watching a fight with polio and “delayed development” uncle.
“We created a world that does not include different abilities, and I think it’s overdue to correct this historical error,” Gupta said in the video.
Srichchha Pradhan, representing Nepal, is promoting a world that focuses on the wisdom of our ancestors.
According to Miss World’s official website, Pradan’s initiative Pancha Pranali hopes to reconnect the nature of Nepal’s indigenous communities and people of traditional wisdom to solve today’s problems.
Her project emphasizes climate action based on ancestral values.
“We are healing ourselves while listening to rivers, trees and animals,” Pradan said on her official Instagram account. “It’s not about solving the problem, it’s about redirecting the narrative toward harmony and respect.”
Bangladesh candidate Atika Konika is the last to join the Telangana gang.
According to the Miss World representative, although she was the first runner-up for Miss Bangladesh in 2024, she was selected to represent her country due to some last-minute developments.
Konika said in a video posted on the Miss World YouTube channel that a certified mental health support staff said her own battle with ADHD, anxiety and low self-worth was the inciteer of her project, which was young Mind Matters.
“Mental health is never optional. For example, between 2023 and 2024, 984 students died of suicide. In my project, I wanted to go beyond support and build solutions,” Konika said in the video.
About her Anudi Gunasekara, World Sri Lanka, is breaking taboos and changing lives through her “Purposeful Beauty” project Saheli.
She focuses on menstrual health and hygiene, providing essential products and education in Sri Lanka’s schools, children’s residences, prisons, workplaces, postpartum centers and monasteries.
“This project is not only part of the competition; it’s part of me. It’s born out of countless women’s stories shaped by the struggles they face and creates meaningful, lasting dreams of change with dreams,” Gunasekara posted her journey on her Instagram page, on her Instagram page.
This year, Miss Finland and Miss Malaysia are also represented by women of Indian roots.
