On social media, Okcredit CEO and founder Harsh Pokharna shared his experience of laying off 70 employees on LinkedIn, while explaining how companies can take care of sensitive situations through human methods.

But, in the challenge, Bocana said the company handled the situation with caution. “Eighteen months ago, we fired 70 people. It’s going on like this: We burned too much. Hired too quickly. It’s our mistake. We have it. It’s one of the hardest things I’ve done as a founder. But we’re trying to do it the right way.”

How demanding Pokharna’s Okcredit supports employees

Pokharna explained in his post how the company took various steps to help employees after layoffs, who first communicated with employees. “We spoke with each of the 70 employees and explained why we had to let go,” he wrote. Okcredit provided employees with a three-month notice period for a smooth transition. At the same time, during the same period, the company assisted employees in putting their work at work by providing them with recommendations, job leaders, etc.

Pokharna explains the methods he provides to help employees in his post. “Sixty-seven were placed before the notice period ended. For three people who didn’t, we gave two months of salary.” CEO Harsh Pokharna took a straightforward approach, believing in keeping in touch with employees, so criticized the company for laying off employees directly by communicating this through email without having to talk to them first, “That’s inhumane. Yes, layoffs happened. But everything about how you handle them says everything to your culture,” he said.

Okcredit CEO Harsh Pokharna was founded in 2017 with Gaurav Kunwar and Aditya Prasad. The company provides customers with digital ledger applications. He graduated from IIT Kanpur, he studied mechanical engineering and worked at major technology companies such as Flipkart, Intel Corporation and Reliance Payment Solutions Ltd.
