One such story is Tanmay Gupta, a young student from Jamu, who achieved an extraordinary milestone in 2021 by earning the All India Ranking (AIR) 1 in NEET (National Qualification and Entry Test). From a family of doctors, his journey proves determination, hard work and balance can lead to incredible achievements.

Born in a family of medical professionals, Tanmay Gupta began her journey to becoming a Level 11 doctor. Despite his family medical background, his path to success was not easy. He studied the NEET UG exam diligently for 4 to 5 hours a day while maintaining his hobbies, which he believed was to improve his attention.

In 2021, Tanmay scored a 720 best score in the NEET exam, putting him at 99.9998057%. Speaking to the media, he said: “I started preparing for Standard 11 and continued my studies with my company. It helped me stay interested and focused.”

Tanmay, who represented Jamu and Kashmir in the national first-class swimming competition, emphasized the importance of “smart research” and set daily goals. His parents played a major role throughout the journey by supporting and encouraging him.

His father, Dr. Akshay Gupta, shared: “He often focuses on a lot whether it’s sports or studying. In Level 10, he scored 100 points in mathematics. To get a good university, for all India’s quotas, he went to Delhi. I expected him to score 700, but that was totally unexpected.” Dr. Shivali Gupta, Tanmay’s mother, added: “I want to say to young people in Chamu and Kashmir Tanmay has two qualities. First, he once set daily goals and accomplished them at any cost. Second, he has consistency and concentration. We are really proud.”

Tanmay completed his Level 10 education at Jamu before moving to Delhi for higher studies. Despite the changes in the environment and increased competition, he cracked the NEET exam on his first attempt, making his achievements even better.

Tanmay’s story is an inspiration for students across the country, especially those in Jamu and Kashmir. His dedication, strategic planning and research ability with personal interests shows that success can be achieved with the right mindset and effort.
