LADDU adulteration case: SIT probe; notice to Gwalior Trader

Police officials said the Special Investigation Team (STI) explored the allegations of using adulterated ghee to make the famous “Laddu prasadam”, which the police official said in the Gwalior of Madhya Pradesh, the famous Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple of Tirumala Hills in Andhra Pradesh has notified the merchants.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has formed a committee after the Supreme Court’s instructions to form an independent sitting position in November last year, and the allegations of using animal fat in manufacturing Tirupati Laddus were investigated.

The five-person SIT includes CBI officials, Andhra Pradesh police officers and staff from the Food Safety and Standards Agency of India (FSSAI).

Guarill City Police Chief Robin Jain said some of the court designated members of Sit have recently arrived in Gwalior.

“They found out the case’s contact with a trader at Dahl Market and helped the notification. In this regard, SIT will take further action.”
