Metro dpr is for Medchal, Shamirpet

Hyderabad: According to official sources, the national cabinet is expected to approve a detailed project report (DPR) for next week's Hyderabad Metro Phase 2 (B Part-B) project to extend the system to Medchal and Shamirpet at Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) in Secunderabad. The cabinet will also approve the DPR connecting the Shimshabad Airport to the Metro Corridor of the Future City.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced the Boart-B project as a “New Year Gift” on January 1 this year. He instructed Hyderabad Airport Metro Co., Ltd. (HAML) to prepare two major metro routes for DPRS, 23 km from Paradise to Medchal and 22 km from JBS to Shamirpet. The third corridor connecting Shamshabad Airport with the future city will span 40 kilometers.
JBS-Medchal Metro Rail will be through Tadbund, Bowenpally, Suchitra Circle and Kompally, and JBS-Shamirpet Metro Rail will be through Vikrampuri, Karkhana, Alwal and Bolaram.
CM has set a deadline for April 2 to complete the completion of DPRS. Although the target was missed, the DPRS is now completed and will be approved at an upcoming cabinet meeting.
Similar to Phase 1 of the project, Phase 2 Phase B will be implemented as a joint venture between the central government and the state government. The proposed corridor may have an innovative double-storey elevated structure, a hybrid subway viaduct and elevated roads.
To alleviate traffic congestion in Central Setinabad and Hyderabad, HMDA also proposed an elevated corridor under two public-private partnerships (PPP) models. The first one is 11.12 km, which will extend from the junction of heaven to the Shamirpet Orr, while the second one will span 5.32 km, connecting the junction of heaven to the dairy farm road of NH-44 along NH-44. These elevated corridors are expected to integrate with the proposed subway lines.
DPRS will first obtain approval from the HAML Board of Directors, which includes the Chief Secretary, five directors of the five division secretaries and HAML managing director. After approval by the board of directors, the final permit will be provided by the state cabinet.
Revanth Reddy studied the integration of subway railways, bullet trains and suburban railways in the Tokyo metropolitan area during a recent visit to Japan. Inspired by this model, CM instructs HAML to consider a similar approach in Phase 2 Phase B.
He asked officials to explore the possibility of developing the JBS subway station in Secunderabad to a major hub, integrating the three-row line and a bus station on 30 acres of land. This ambitious project aims to make Hyderabad's metro network one of the most connected and efficient projects in the country.
