Metro Rail offers 10% off fare rebate

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro commuters will have partial relief starting on Saturday as L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (L&TMRHL) announced that the newly revised fare has a 10% rebate in all fare areas of the three metro corridors. The news came after the fare rate hike that took effect last Saturday.
The revised fare structure has the lowest ticket price from 10 to 12 and the highest ticket price from 60 to 75, an increase of 25%, with about 500,000 passengers per day. Hiking is based on the recommendations of the Fixed Fares Commission (FFC) as part of a broader strategy to ensure the long-term sustainability of subway operations and maintenance.
L&TMRHL said the 10% rebate effective from May 24 is a good intention gesture designed to reduce the financial burden on passengers while maintaining financial prudence. The subway operator said the decision reflects a commitment to a balance of affordability and operational feasibility and was made after careful consideration of public feedback.
“As a responsible urban transport operator, we remain committed to providing efficient and affordable mobility solutions. While fare revisions are critical to maintaining operations, we understand the importance of minimizing the financial impact on passengers,” said KVB Reddy, MD and CEO of L&TMRHL.
He added: “From May 24, we are aligned with passenger feedback and benefits, and we offer a 10% discount on the revised fare. This is a testament to our dedication to making daily commuters easier to use.” L&TMRHL urges passengers to visit www.ltmetro.com for detailed fare charts and updates.
