Delhi: Sign of nose nail helps police identify murdered woman, husband arrested

A real estate dealer was arrested along with a domestic worker for allegedly murdering his wife in Delhi. According to the TOI report, the couple shared a troubled relationship and often argued.

According to police, the victim was strangled, wrapped in bed sheets, thrown into a drain with a huge rock on it.

The sign on her nose pin made the police identify her as Seema (47). Her husband, Anil, and his servant, Shiv Shankar, were caught.
On March 15, police received a call at about 4 p.m. to ask about the body of a woman lying in the Najafgarh drainage near Nirmal Dham. Later, she was confirmed with the help of hallmark on the nose pin, which was purchased from a showroom in South Delhi. When police visited the showroom, they found that the lady’s name was listed as Seema Singh seeka Singh and listed a husband with a name, her name was her husband’s name.

Police said Kumar had tried to deceive his in-laws and informed them that the couple was on vacation in Jaipur and that Seema was uncomfortable. He promised them that she would talk to them once her health improved. After the misinformation lasted for several days, the family contacted the police. When face to face, Kumar told police that his wife went to Flindawan.


Further investigations revealed that Seema’s life was shortened on March 11, when fierce debates escalated and ugly in her residence in Chhawla. Following the horrible bill, the defendant took intentional measures to cover up his crime. “After killing her, they wrapped Seema’s body on a bed sheet, secured it with a cable, and secured it in a gutter,” the officer said.

Police are investigating whether more people are involved in the bill.
