PM Modi will visit Varanasi on April 11 to open a development project worth Rs 3.884 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Varanasi on Friday (11 April 2025) to open a development project of Rs 3,884 crore.
He will arrive at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi at 10 a.m. and will stay for about two and a half hours. Mr. Modi will go directly to Mehdiganj for a public meeting after landing.
BJP Kashi District President Dilip Patel, with Anniconfirmed the news: “The Prime Minister of India and the famous Varanasi MP, Honorary Prime Minister Varanasi has arrived in his Lok Sabha constituency for the 50th time this time.”
He also mentioned: “We were told that the respected Prime Minister will arrive around 10 o’clock. From then on, the Prime Minister will go directly to Mehdiganj Gram Panchayat after completing the rally service at Babatpur Airport.”
Public meeting
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has invited over 50,000 people to the public meeting, where PM Modi will open and lay the foundation for various projects worth Rs 3884 crore. Key projects include major underground tunnels on NH-31, development of airport areas, and educational institutions such as government degree colleges and polytechnic schools. Modi is expected to start discussions around 12:30 pm for about 20 minutes.
Mr Patel further details the scope of these projects, noting: “The key projects under the initiative of Rs 3884 crore include a major underground tunnel on NH-31 worth approximately Rs 6.5 crore. Other projects include the water scheme, the university, park, park, police, a dormitory, and department stores in Maruwadi.”
“The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organization in the Varanasi region and city, including 33 Mandals, is preparing for the large-scale voting group. Party workers from all Mandos, Booth and other fronts are expected to attend public gatherings. In addition, all from the Varanasi region will attend 50,000 Prime Ministers.
Mr. Patel added, “The key project under the ₹3,884 crore initiative includes a major underpass tunnel on NH-31, worth about ₹6,500 crore. Other projects include the development of an airport area, a water mission, a government degree college, a polytechnic college, a hockey stadium, a police transit hostel, and barracks at Ram Nagar Police Line, along with road widening and a flyover in Maruwadi. The Prime Minister will provide blessings and solutions to these pressing issues during his visit.”
Babatpur Airport expansion
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reportedly will lay the foundations in many developments including Varanasi. Among them is the construction of a six-lane tunnel under the expansion of Babatpur Airport. Under this project, the airport’s runway will be expanded, as now, both aircraft will be able to land and take off at the same time. After this change, the number of aircraft at the airport will increase to 110 per day. The six-lane tunnel will be built by shaping the Varanasi-Lakenno National Highway (NH-21) into new shapes.
According to reports, the budget is 65.264 crore for this purpose, of which 3.25 crore is only used for tunnel construction. In addition, 10.50 hectares of land near the airport have been acquired. The completion of the project will establish a smooth transportation route between the city and the airport.
Prime Minister Modi’s plan also reportedly includes a new transport city in Varanasi, which will be built in Mohanzale. Under this project, 12 crore rupees will be spent on uses such as truck parking, warehouses, restaurants, shopping malls and dormitory facilities. CCTV surveillance and truck drivers will also ensure safety systems.
PM Modi will also lay the foundation for the renovation of various parks throughout the city. 11 major parks in Varanasi will be beautified. Among them, the parks of Ashok Nagar, Mahadev Nagar, Kanshiram Yojana and Birdopur are prominent. This work will increase the city’s greening and beauty.
He will also open 35 new works of art at the intersection of Varanasi. These artifacts include hockey sticks, dancers performed by Kathak, Nandi Lion and replicas of the city’s ghats. These artifacts will enhance the identity and beauty of the city.
A mini stadium will also be reportedly in the wet cloth and will be sold for Rs 6.15 crore. This stadium will feature sporting facilities such as yoga halls, walking tracks, cricket nets, hockey stadiums and soccer stadiums. This complex will prove to be a good place for children, youth and sports enthusiasts.
PM Modi’s initiative will include Rs 3,451 crore for 130 rural drinking water schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission, with a budget of over 1 million crore to expand investments in Rs 1,000 crore for various roads and Rs 4 billion substations and transmission lines.
In addition to this, many new universities and libraries will be built in the field of education.
