Mild attack on elephant by laser: Devaswom accusation agenda undermines Pooram

Paramekkavu Devaswom authorities filed a charge that the Secret Hall may be working behind the scenes to destroy the Thrissur Pooram Festival by using laser lights to target elephants.

Paramekkavu Devaswom Secretary G. Rajesh is here to interact with media people, deliberately pointing laser lights to the eyes of elephants during the pitiful incident, including the night parade and Kudamattom.

He suspected that the light might have caused the accident before the poor fireworks exploded, and the elephant ran away on that fireworks, causing many injuries.

He warned that such an incident during Kudamattom could have caused a huge disaster. Despite strict orders from the district administration against the use of laser lights in poor events, people continued to flash them during night parades and even during Kudamattom.

Mr Rajesh called for a ban on the sale of laser lights at festival venues and demanded strict action against those who use them. He stressed that the ultimate goal of some groups may be to end the elephant parade.
