“Delhi Capital Bowling Coach Munaf Patel was fined 25% of the game and violated the IPL Code of Conduct in a match against the Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday for violating the IPL Code of Conduct.”

The statement said Munav “accepted sanctions from the match referee.”

The statement did not specify Munav’s exact charge, but he could be punished for a debate with the match officials after not allowing the former Indian pacemaker to not allow players to be sent to the middle to convey his message.

Munaf, a leading member of the 2011 ODI World Cup champion team under MS Dhoni, was appointed DC bowling coach last November, replacing James’ hopes.

Article 2.20 covers all types of conduct opposite to the spirit of the game and does not specifically cover specific offences elsewhere in this Code of Conduct.

“ … Article 2.20 of May 2 (depending on the severity and context of the violation) is prohibited and not limited to the following: (a) the use of illegal bats or illegal wickets to preserve gloves; (b) the failure to comply with the provisions of Article 6.3, 6.3 of the IPL matching conditions.

“…the context of a particular situation should be considered, and whether it is intentional, reckless, negligent, avoidable and/or accidental.
