Minister Ponguleti releases funds for Indiramma houses

Hyderabad: Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the construction of Indiramma houses is still developing steadily despite financial constraints, saying the state government continues to release funds for Indiramma houses every Monday, which is consistent with the completion of the construction phase.

Srinivas Reddy released Rs 1,607 crore in 1,383 homes on Monday, with basement works completing the house and completing the walls for 224 houses. To date, a total of Rs 5364 crore has been paid to 5,364 beneficiaries whose houses have completed the basement and wall stages. The minister reviewed the progress of the work in a zoom meeting with officials.

The minister also highlighted the ongoing progress of the pilot projects under the Indiramma Housing Program. So far, the initiative has approved 47,335 homes, with 204 homes in the construction phase. Of these, 5,140 houses have completed their basement, 300 houses have erected walls, and 10 have reached the slab stage.

Srinivas Reddy said payments to beneficiaries are directly in four different stages to avoid middlemen’s involvement. After the basement is completed, they will receive Rs 10,000 and Rs 1.25,000 after the wall is built, and once the plate is installed, they will receive Rs 1.75,000, while after the house is fully constructed, the final Rs 10,000.

Srinivas Reddy also stressed the importance of completing Indiramma houses in time, especially given the upcoming monsoon season. He directed officials to take all necessary measures to ensure the construction schedule remains on track.
