Minister welcomes SC order to dismiss Elstone real estate management petition

Tax Secretary K. Rajan welcomed a Supreme Court order that dismissed a special leave petition filed by Elstone Estate Management against taking over the rehabilitation land of Wayanad Landslides survivors and bailing it.

“The Supreme Court’s ruling insists that the government decides to take over the Elstone real estate land for the project under the Disaster Management Act,” the minister told media sources on Monday.

The state has been filed in the Supreme Court, which owns 64.47 hectares of land in Kalpetta, Wayanad, deposited Rs 44 crore in the High Court Registration and began construction of model townships. “Despite the assurance of government, some people’s rehabilitation crimes for land takeover remain concerning to restore survivors of Mundakkai-Choralmala Landslides.

“A division judge in the High Court had allowed the state government to symbolize the symbolism of the land. Later, it allowed the government to perform physical ownership of 170 million in the High Court Registration.

Mr Rajan said the project will be implemented quickly. “The construction of the house will be completed in 2025. By March 2026, related works such as Anganwadi, playgrounds, roads and libraries will be completed. The project will be dedicated to people within one year.”
