Telangana decides to negotiate peacefully for 86 Maoists surrender in Badradri-Kotagoudim

Nalgonda: IGP Multi Zone – I, S. Chandrasekhar Reddy, announced on Saturday that any peace talks with the banned CPI (MAOIST) party will be decided by the state government, and the police promised to follow the directive.
At a media conference held by the regional police station in Kothagudem, Chandrasekhar Reddy confirmed that 86 cadres from the CPI, including 20 women, had surrendered to the police. He further revealed that about 95 Maoists continued to operate in various abilities of Telangana. The IGP urged the remaining cadres to lay down their weapons and join the mainstream, stressing that the state government is providing recovery support to those who surrender.
Chandrasekhar Reddy resolved the issue of a letter raised by the CPI (Maoist) to raise a letter to the peace talks, and Chandrasekhar Reddy said such matters fall within the scope of the state government’s decision-making process.
The IGP also pointed to recent incidents in the Kosar Gudham and Mulugu areas where Maoists cast explosives from local residents.
The surrendered groups represent the various wings of the organization, including members of the regional committee, revolutionary people’s committee, members of the militia and representatives from relevant cultural and labor groups. According to a police press release, 224 Maoists from various cadres surrendered this year, a move that said it reflects the growing disillusionment of tribal communities. Now, many locals believe that the ideology of CPI (Maoist) has lost consciousness, especially given the adverse impact of recent violence on tribal life and hinders development efforts in the field of agency.
