When the last sun on Thursday night turned golden in the horizon, Bhoodan Pochampally’s Telangana Tourism Park transformed into a stage of vibrant colors, culture and celebrations, welcoming 22 Miss World from the African continent Miss World 2025.

Participants arrived at the traditional reception, each with a stupid shawl or a symbolic gesture of stealing, setting the tone for the night rooted in local heritage. A red carpet lined up along the path through the exquisite park, with the floral arrangement adding a joyful style to the surroundings.

The spotlight at night is on the world-renowned Ikat sari in Pochampally. The contestants learned about the complexity of the weaving process, watched closely the craftsmen at work, and even tried to use rattan to rotate the yarn. The contestants dressed in bright mouse costumes and decorated with Mehendi, immersed in experience, blending tradition with elegance.

What adds to the rhythm on this occasion is the fascinating rhythm of the traditional Kinnera and Dappu instruments. Many contestants joined in the appeal of music, and some even enjoyed the instrument and danced their music happily.

The interaction with the artisans expanded into a vibrant market where stalls selling IKAT items made buyers in the group eager for buyers. Although these women wear their own style, they all wear a Pochampally’s signature handloom.

Yadadri Bhongir Regional Collector Hanumantha Rao said of the party: “This village is very important not only to Telangana, but also to India as a whole. Our Weaver community is not only weaved with threads, but also has inner, historical and legacy. Pochampally’s Ikat’s Ikat received the GI tag in 2004 and was recognized by the best village in 20211.

Local MLA Kumbam Anil Kumar Reddy responded to the sentiment, “Pochampally is a historic weaver. Among its residents are Padma winners who have published a lot in its legacy.”

There was also a ramp walk on the night, with models wearing elegant fool-and-shoot looms. The display cabinet attracted admiration from all, and the contestants and visitors were attracted by grace and artistry.

During a parallel cultural visit, 35 Miss World contestants representing the Caribbean and America visited the Yadagirigutta Temple. A special puja performance for their honor adds a spiritual dimension to their Telangana experience.
