Mitchell Starc lost coolness due to unnecessary attention at Delhi Airport

Starc reportedly left the country after the league’s suspension and was recorded by a fan while navigating the terminal.
As the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is shrouded in uncertainty due to ongoing tensions on the India-Pakistan border, the Delhi Capitals franchise is taking off with a range of overseas players and subsequent substitute attacks. Recent developments have attracted attention to Australian pacemaker Mitchell Starc, who was arrested on viral footage of the terminal at the Delhi Airport and reportedly left India after a game suspension.
In the footage, a video museum attempts to shoot Starc, which responds with obvious dissatisfaction, instructing the fan to “go away.” This interaction underscores the sudden stop of IPL matches and the increasing tensions over the instability facing foreign players.

Although there is no official announcement of Starc’s potential returns for the rest of the IPL season, the Delhi capital is proactive in preparing for a variety of situations. In strategic maneuver, the franchise signed Bangladesh’s left-arm pacemaker Mustafizur Rahman to replace Australian opener Jake Fraser-McGurk, who was released for the rest of the season. Fraser-McGurk’s performance was incredible, defeated before the game was suspended and amassed only 55 games in six games.
However, there are also issues with Mustafizur’s availability. Bangladesh fast bowlers set off for Dubai on Wednesday to compete in two T20I series against the UAE, which is scheduled to take part on May 17 and 19. Sources suggest Mustafizur is unlikely to return by May 20, which will result in him being out of a key game between Delhi Capitals against Gujarat Titans.
The current situation has led to the franchise discussing with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on the early release of state responsibilities. According to standard practice, BCB is entitled to the percentage of the player’s IPL contract, which adds an important financial aspect to these negotiations.
With fans eagerly expecting a renewed status of Mitchell Starc and the return of Mustafizur Rahman, the Delhi capital found itself at a key point in the 2025 campaign – a move affected by off-field diplomacy as a performance on the spot.
