Mobile phones over 900 rupees recovered 97 liters

Hyderabad:The government railway police used the Central Equipment Identity Registration Portal (CEIR) to recover 970 stolen or lost mobile phones worth Rs 9.7 lakh, belonging to train passengers. Sources revealed that the calls will be officially handed over to the owners on Tuesday.
According to GRP SP, Secunderabad, G. Supervisors from ChandanaDeepti and DSRP Urban SN, based on complaints filed by the RPF, GRP and MEESEVA Center, retried the cell phone.
These phones belong to railway passengers in Telangana, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
Passengers who lost or misplaced their phones should contact the nearest police department to block IMEI using the CEIR portal, an official said. “We can track the phone, unblock and hand it over to the legal owner,” he added.
