Mohanlal movie becomes the second Malayalam film, earning Rs 100 million worldwide after L2 Empuraan in 2025
Thudarum is the second fastest Malayalam film behind L2:Empuraan’s global Rs 10 billion club, which itself achieved a feat on the second day. This is also the fourth Mohanlal movie that earned over Rs 1,000 crore worldwide after Pulimurugan, Lucifer and its sequel L2: Empuraan.

Thudarum, titled Mohanlal’s headline and hosted by Tharun Moorthy, has burned the box office since its release on April 25, and within six days the thriller drama has violated the mark of Rs 1,000 crore at the global box office. It has become the second Malayalam film of 2025, achieving the feat after L2: Empuraan, which also starred in Mohanlal, which released a global box office favorite of Rs 265 crore after its release on March 27, becoming the highest Malayalam film ever. The latest release is the second Fast Malayalam Movie. Empuraan has the record, because it achieved its feat on its own the next day. Thudarum is also the fourth Mohanlal movie, earning Rs 100 crore worldwide after Pulimurugan, Lucifer and its sequel L2: Empuraan.
To celebrate the occasion, Mohanlal landed on his social media account and also released the official video of Song Kondattam, created by Jakes Bejoy, with lyrics written by MG Sreekumar and Rajalakshmi Sung and Rajalakshmi Sung and Vinayak Sasikumar. Malayalam superstar wrote: “It’s great to share that Thudarum has spanned Rs 100 crore at the global box office! Celebrate this moment with the Kondattam -Thudarum Promo song.”
Also played by Shobana, Prakash Varma, Farhaan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Thomas Mathew, Thomas Mathew and Krishna Prabha, the latest Mohanlal movie, awarded by Tharun Mohanlal Mohnlal Mohlun Moorshy. Moorthy won the national film “Best Malayalam” award in 2021’s crime thriller Java Operation and his second film “2022 Crime Drama Saudi Vellakka”.

Thudarum was produced by M. Renjith under his banner Rejaputra Visual Media. With overwhelming response from audiences in Housefull’s show, the thriller will be long-lasting at the box office and will be one of Mollywood’s highest-grossing movies.
