Mom and dad’s chin appeals for family day ideas ending with handcuffs and jail

Police said a California family was handcuffed after they decided to engage in a revelation of target stealing.
On the evening of April 16, a couple and their teenage son were robbed of targets in California’s Highlands by a robbery security camera, according to the Highlands Police Department (UPD).
The shocking compilation of footage shared by the department shows families scattering themselves throughout the store – snatching electronics, clothes and jewelry, and then they flee without paying.
As they entered, they saw the mother and son jump on the electric shopping cart, ride on the Target, and choose their choice.
Police received calls about the theft, but the culprit allegedly managed to leave the store before police intervened.
The video shows the moment his son strolls next to his father on the exit of the electric shopping cart next to him.
Then, he saw his mother rushing behind them, carrying several gray shopping bags filled with unpaid items.
But an officer saw the suspect driving his white SUV through the residential area in a frantically – a sudden turn to try to avoid police.

When the police car finally caught up, the teenager raised up, and his parents allegedly told him to do it and rushed down amid some stolen goods.
He tried to escape the authorities by walking through someone’s backyard, which would only trigger a greater effort to track him down.
“We don’t look down on our people, so many officials responded to the area, including help from our K9 and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department,” the UPD wrote.
Meanwhile, Body Cam shots capture an officer’s confrontation with his parents when he pulls them over.
‘Don’t lie to me. We already know. He saw it, we saw it all happening, who jumped the car, where is he going? Officials said before arresting the two.
When UPD posted on Facebook, the teenager was quickly tracking and handcuffed with his parents and dragged the escape car.
Police seized at least 10 different pieces of clothing, including baby’s outfit, PlayStation controller and basketball hoop.

According to the department, the police confiscated various clothing, electronics and jewelry jewelry (picture: some stolen goods)

Even though they posted information and videos from the dramatic arrests, the suspects have not been publicly named, and their faces have been blurred as the incident is still under investigation.
According to the California Institute of Public Policy, in 2023, there has been a surge in shoplift incidents in California since 2019.
In 2023, there are about 24,000 thefts in this type of theft than four years ago.
According to the latest data from the California Center for Budget and Policy, every 210 out of every 100,000 Californians shop in 2022.
This year, California Gov. Gavin Newsom vowed to combat retail theft and property crimes.
State law came into effect in January, allowing officials to arrest suspects who had shoplifted for possible reasons even if they did not witness the behavior.
The probation period for small theft and shoplifting has also doubled from one year to two years.

Additionally, according to the governor’s office, people who are guilty of robbing a store can be banned from the location for up to two years.
If shoppers in California find that they have stolen items worth more than $950 with the aim of selling them, they could face up to three years in prison.
“California’s new laws address today’s biggest emerging challenges,” Newsom said in a December 2024 press release.
“Through partnerships with the Legislature, we are strengthening public safety, building more housing, and providing more resources to our communities.
“These practical reforms are most important to create more opportunities for all Californians.”
