Moral values are the key to preventing substance abuse: Smart students

The National Secretariat for Smart Students reiterates that inculcating the moral values and principles of young people from an early age is crucial to addressing the growing problem of drug abuse among young people.

Teaching the moral principles and values that religion advocates to younger generations is crucial for their character development and shaping the worldview.

“Authorizing criminal acts or individual participation in crime to their religious beliefs perpetuate the public sector and promotes a harmful mentality of us with them,” said Governor of Intelligent Students Arshad Al Hikami.

Mr Hikami urged the state’s parties to put aside the differences and work together to find solutions to problems with drug-related incidents on campus, rather than blaming each other.

The Smart Student’s statement was a heated controversy arising from some of the remarks made here by KT Jaleel, an independent MLA on IFTAR organized by the Smart Islamic Organisation here last week.

Mr Jalair once said that despite his religious education in Madrasas, many Muslim youth have participated in criminal activities, including drug-related cases.

Many people joined the controversy, with Madrasas and Islamic religious education becoming the targets of some corner attacks. Several Muslim leaders condemned Mr. Jalier’s speech.

However, Mr. Jalaire insisted on using the gun. “My survey shows a significant trend: About 99% of Muslim names arrested in drug-related cases have received Islamic education in their growing years,” he said in a lengthy Facebook post.

Meanwhile, Widsom students said they are planning a broad plan to address part of a state student meeting in Perrin Salmanna on May 11 to address immoral trends related to drug abuse by students.
