The LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) hosted the seventh edition of its annual “Whitathon” walk on Sunday, attracting more than 1,500 participants to raise awareness of the early discovery of Retinoblastoma, an aggressive eye cancer that affects children and mobilizes funds to treat it.
The event was organized in the commemoration of the World Retinal Advocacy Week (May 11-17), and was marked on T-Works as Director General of Telangana Disaster Response and Fire Services Y Nagi Reddy. LVPEI Executive Chairman Prashant Garg and Apollo Cancer Hospital Director Vijay Anand Reddy also joined him.
The proceeds from running will be used to provide free treatment for impoverished children diagnosed with retinoblastoma and support ongoing research in the field, a press release said.
