Advantages, Apple
It can be said that Apple has the best silicon development team in the world, at least external forces. The chips used in iPhones and Macs lead the industry, producing performance per watt that no one can match. For Apple, this is a strategic advantage, which itself can be regarded as a national advantage of the country. A U.S. company owns these designs, which blocks one aspect of digital advantages.
With this in mind, it is inevitable that Apple will keep its focus on processor design. This brings a competitive advantage to the company, and at least to some extent, it supports national security.
If that’s the case, it’s interesting to note that one of the new processors it makes is suitable for use in wearables – for Apple, that’s what it hopes to develop for years in a competition with Meta. Apple is also developing next-generation chips for Mac and iPhones, which is no surprise at all, as well as processor chips for Apple Intelligence servers. In a way, the only surprise is that the company is building a new low-power, high-performance processor that is able to deliver the daunting tasks required for space computing in glasses.
