DCA catches fake drug in Secunderabad

Hyderabad: The Telangana Drug Control Authority (DCA) has seized false “Montek-LC” tablets, claiming they were produced by a pharmaceutical company based in Sikkim.

DCA Director VB Kamalasan Reddy said a fake version of the “Montek-LC” film was found in the second fair in Secunderabad during a raid based on gathered intelligence.

The drug inspector grabbed the stock and obtained a comparison statement with the manufacturer’s suspicious batches of the original batch. The manufacturer also concluded that a batch of “Montek-LC” tablets detected by DCA were false drugs. These tablets are used to treat signs and symptoms of allergic rhinitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria and bronchial asthma.

In another raid, the DCA raided two quack-run clinics and seized illegally stored drugs designed to be sold in two separate locations – Pashamylararam village in Patancheru and Bowrampet Village in Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

Based on reliable information, DCA officials raided the premises of two quack doctors, G. Radharukmini and Shaik Jani Basha, who claimed to be rural doctors and rural doctors and medicine without proper qualifications in their clinics.

Drugs including antibiotics, antibiotic drugs, painkillers, etc. have been found in the venue. During the raid, several antibiotics – ceftriaxone, cephalene, and cefoxophylone were found in the clinic. Officials say that selling unqualified persons could have catastrophic consequences for the public’s health, including antibiotic resistance.

In another raid, DCA caught the “Nagakesaramulu Choornam” of Ayurvedic Medicine in Kanukunta Village, Ramachandrapuram for its misleading advertisements to treat infertility.
