Pakistan issues more than 6,500 visas to Indian pilgrims

New Delhi: The Pakistan High Commission has issued more than 6,500 visas to Indian pilgrims to participate in the annual Baisakhi Festival, which will be held from April 10 to 19. “As amid the Baisakhi celebrations, the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi has issued more than 6,500 visas to pilgrims in India to participate in the annual festival planned for April 10-19 in Pakistan,” the High Commission said in a statement.

It said that the pilgrims will enter Aria to visit Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Nankana Sahib and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib.

Pakistan’s D’Affaire in India, Saad Ahmad Warraich said the large number of visas issued by the Pakistani government are “an embodiment of our policies that promote harmony and promote understanding between people, culture and religion”.

The statement quoted him as saying that Pakistan will continue to promote access to the sacred and holy lands.
