MS Dhoni at No. 9? Manoj Tiwary, Virender Sehwag Slam CSK said: “Coach Ki Himmat Nahi Hai …’

The five-time IPL champions struggled with their 197 chases and despite the early collapse, MS Dhoni was stopped until 9th, an unusual move. However, the RCB broke the 17-year drought at Ma Chidambaram Stadium, beating Chennai in their homes.
This is the second time in his entire T20 career with Dhoni in his 9th place. The first time was in Dharamsala’s IPL 2024 against Punjab Kings, Harshal Patel was rejected by Harshal Patel.
While at Cricbuzz, Tiwary broke into CSK’s think tank, questioning their courage to send Dhoni when they desperately needed his experience.
“It’s far from where I was a batsman like MS Dhoni stayed unbeaten after getting 16 goals and getting a 190 strike rate, why not take the order? Tivari said.
He went further, directly blaming CSK management for failing to push Dhoni higher in order of batting. He added: “That coaching staff (CSK), they didn’t have the guts to tell MS Dhoni to boost orders. Once he decided, that’s it.”Please read also: Noor Ahmed leads the IPL 2025 Purple Cap Race, which includes 3 wickets including Virat Kohli, slams CSK vs RCB Clash Clashle Clashle Tiwary in CSK to keep Dhoni Dhoni, former India opener Virender Sehwag sarcastically said he walked in too early. He suggested that Dhoni’s position would not change the outcome of the game.
“It’s decided by him and his team. He only plays a certain number of balls. He always hits the ball at 17th or 18th, and he’s in the same situation…I’m not surprised.”
He added in support of the RCB’s dominance: “It doesn’t mean he hit the ball earlier, anything in this game will change because of the way RCB plays.”
CSK’s Batting Crash and Dhoni’s Camera
Chennai-based franchisees never chased their chase, losing three wickets in the power game. With the required running speed, fans expect Dhoni to walk early and stabilize the situation. Instead, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were sent forward, further frustrating supporters.

By the time Dhoni finally hit the ball in Game 16, the game had slipped. Despite showing a brief fireworks, he smashed 30* on 16 balls, including two sixes from Krunal Pandya, but the csk fell short and ended with a 146/8 in 20 points.
The 50-game defeat not only hurts CSK’s campaign, but also marks the RCB’s first victory at Chepauk since 2008, breaking 17 years of Jinx at the venue.
