MS Dhoni Miss TIS CSK's IPL 2025 Clash vs KKR? Eric Simons offers major updates

The upcoming match for MS Dhoni is expected to be his last match at the iconic venue, as CSK no longer plans to play there.

MS Dhoni is currently leading the five-time champion and is also the most successful franchise in the IPL. However, this season proved to be a very disappointing one for the Chennai Super King. The team has been working to regain their form, and it caught the attention when Dhoni missed two practice sessions before the race against the Kolkata Knight Riders. As he is often absent, speculation about his involvement and fitness begins to circulate.

Fortunately, CSK's bowling coach Eric Simons provided a guarantee for Dhoni's fitness, which gave any questions a break. If Dhoni does compete in the upcoming match, it may mark his last appearance at the iconic venue, as CSK has no other matches scheduled there. This adds a layer of emotion to the lamp.

With CSK already out of playoff games and rumor about Dhoni’s retirement spinning after IPL 2025, fans are eagerly looking forward to seeing him for the rest of the game.

“Yes, he’s expected to play tomorrow,” Simmons said on the eve of the game.

“About MS, he knows his situation very well. He knows where he is. As far as his preparation is concerned, he always works very hard at the start of the game and then allows himself to gradually decrease because he puts himself in a prepared space. So there is no problem, he just knows when to prepare and when to do it.”

Dhoni resigned from the Captain before last season but stood out in IPL 2025 as regular captain Ruturaj Gaikwad missed half of IPL 2025, who was eliminated for injured elbows.
