A 20-year-old engineering student from the National Institute of Technology (NIT-C) was flooded at Pathankayam Falls in Kozhikode District on Friday (April 18). The victim was identified as Rekrans of Andhra Pradesh.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m., at an ecotourism location in Kodenchery Panchayat. Police sources said Revanth was part of a six-person student group visiting the area.
Although one of his friends managed to pull him out of the water within minutes, Revanth succumbed to his injuries on his way to a private hospital in Mukkom. Residents said students entered the dangerous part of the falls, ignoring the warning boards in the area.
