Mukesh Ambani’s wife and Reliance Foundation chairman Nita Ambani began her professional journey as a school teacher. Nita grew up in a middle-class Gujarat family in Mumbai and completed her graduation from the Narsee Monjee School of Business and Economics. After a brief three-week courtship, shortly after marrying Mukesh Ambani in 1985, NITA began teaching at Sunflower Nursery School.
Before her marriage she had made it clear that she wanted to continue her passion for teaching, which was a commitment of respect from Mukesh. Despite her new position as wife of Reliance Future, Nita earned a monthly salary of Rs 800 as a teacher.
