Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran movie in India violating Rs 10 billion in India

L2:Empuraan directed by Mohanlal-starrer and Prithviraj Sukumaran is the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time, with a global box office collection of over Rs 2.5 crore.

Headlines hosted by Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, Malayalam action thriller L2: Empuraan or Empuraan -Lucifer 2 is released in the cinema on March 27. The sequel to Lucifer in 2019 and the second sequel to The Planned Lucifer Trilogy, and lasted for a week at the box office.
In the first 11 days, India’s Empuraan received a network of Rs 9,835 crore in India. According to the 12th day of early estimates by entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk, the action thriller charged Rs 177 crore in the network in India, with its domestic net income reaching Rs 10 crore. So Mohanlal-Starrer finally crossed the 1,000 crore rupees in India.
The Lucifer sequel produced multiple box office records, which is hard to break easily any Malayalam film. Empuraan has become the first Malayalam film to span Rs 2.5 billion worldwide, thus the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time, earning a global opening of Rs 6.7 billion at the Malayalam Cinema and the first Malayalam film to win Rs 1,0 billion in Malayalam.
The action thriller also plays the role of Prithviraj Sukumaran, who finds himself aroused huge controversy in his subtle reference to the 2002 Gujarat riots with the hindutva group in Kerala. Mohanlal shared a statement saying the Empuraan team regretted hurting the people’s emotions, and the producers voluntarily made 24 cuts.
Apart from Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, L2: Empuraan features a solid ensemble cast comprising of Manju Warrier, Abhimanyu Singh, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Andrea Tivadar, Jerome Flynn, Eriq Ebouaney, Sukant Goel, Nikhat Khan, Karthikeya Dev, Fazil, and Suraj Venjaramoodu, etc.
