Murshidabad Violence: Sukanta Majumdar targets Mamata, saying she makes West Bengal “Bangladeshi version” Lite’

BJP leader and trade union minister Sukanta Majumdar encountered violence in the WAQF amendment amid violence in the Mershidabad area on Sunday (April 20, 2025), and was importing “the situation in Bangladesh” and “the murder of Indiana”.

Mr. Mujadar, Minister of State for Education of Trade Unions, said people were aware that the situation in Bangladesh was foreign. He claimed that the Trinamool Congress leader made the “Bangladeshi version” of West Bengal. “Mamata Banerjee has made West Bengal – a streamlined version of Bangladesh. Hindus were killed in West Bengal…we all know what happened in Bangladesh.” Anni.

He was asked about the brutal murder of Hindu leader Bhabesh Chandra Roy in Bangladesh. India expressed strong concern on Saturday (April 19, 2025) about the kidnapping and brutal killing of Bhabesh Chandra Roy, a Hindu minority leader in Bangladesh, saying it was part of a disturbing pattern of persecution. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) condemned the incident and urged the interim government of Bangladesh to ensure protection for all ethnic minorities.

“We are already troubled by the kidnapping and brutally murdered by Bangladesh Hindu Minority Leader Shri Bhabesh Chandra Roy,” MEA spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on X.

He said: “Even if the perpetrators of previous events were impunity, the killing followed the systematic persecution model of Indian ethnic minorities under the Provisional Government. We condemn this incident and once again reminded the Provisional Government of responsibility for protecting all ethnic minorities, including Hindus, without inventing rulings or divisions,

Police said on Saturday (19 April 2025) that Mr Roy’s body was allegedly kidnapped and beaten in Biral Upazila, Dina Yipur district, Bangladesh earlier this week.

Mr Roy is a resident of the village of Basudebpur under Shatagram Union and serves as Vice President of Biral Unit at Puja Udjapan Parishad, Bangladesh. He was widely respected in the local Hindu community.
