Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin extended his greetings to N. Ram, director of Hindu Group Publishing Pte Ltd, on Sunday for his 80th birthday. In social media posts, Mr Stalin called Mr Ram his “walking friend” and “thinking companion” and described him as a towering sentinel for Indian news.
“He asked about the news, questioned power, and was determined to be free of the press. May his wisdom continue to elicit thoughts and guide public reason.” The Chief Minister also shared his photos with Mr Ram's company.
Makkal Needhi Maiam President and Actor Kamal Haasan greeted Mr Ram in a post on X and described him as his friend and a staunch in Indian journalism, who firmly supports the freedom of truth, fairness and questioning. “For years, thanks for his clarity, courage and company,” he said.
Anbumani Ramadoss, president of Pattali Makkal Katchi, said in an article on X: “I extend my wish to Mr. N. Ram, a famous journalist in India and director of the Hindu Publishing Group, who is celebrating his 80th year.Th Birthday. I hope he will continue to serve the people for many years and be healthy. ”
