The Jalgaon Municipal Corporation’s Birth and Death Registration in Maharashtra has canceled 43 forged birth and death document orders, which are claimed to be issued by the Jalgaon Tehsildar office.
Jalgaon Chief Medical Officer Dr. Gholap Vijay (from January 1, 2024 to February 23, 2025) is the Register of Birth and Death Certificate of Jalgaon Municipal Corporation. “Some news organizations have falsely declared the issue, saying it was a fraud against 43 individuals, the matter has been accused of fraudulent justice, the company has been accused of fraudulent justice, which is a fraudulent act. The fact is that there is no birth or death certificate for local authorities.”
The matter escalated when BJP leader and former Rajya Sabha MP Kirit Somaiya filed charges on April 3, 2025, saying the issuance of birth certificates in Bangladesh immigrants and Rohingyas was a charge of issuing birth certificates in different areas of Maharashtra, who were trying to procure Indian citizens.
Dr Vijay said the birth and death registrations that occur within the scope of the municipal company in Jargon were conducted in the registry and death department on the third floor of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel building. “For records older than one year, the registration is done only after receiving the original copy of the order of the Jalgaon District and Sessions Court or the order of the Tehsildar Jalgaon, after charging a late fee. However, as per the order of Government Decision Miscellaneous 2025/Pr. No. 03/E-1A dated January 21, 2025, the registrations received after the said date have been stopped,” he explained.
However, on February 21, 2025, a person suddenly submitted 50 orders to the birth and death department of the municipal company, adding: “When checking the above application and order, it was noted that the signature of the order seemed to have been forged. During this period, orders were made with the Super Person to make 50 orders beyond that. It was for the sake of death; only 7 of these 50 orders were valid.”
Tehsildar filed the FIR in the Jalgaon Crime Department on Saturday in the case of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 318 (4), 336 (2), 336 (3), 340 (3), 340 (2) and 3 (5), which is equivalent to crimes and crimes with the offender, which is equivalent to crimes and crimes at the time of crimes. FIR is filed against 43 applicants and one person who collected and submitted all 50 applications.
“All names in the app are Muslim names, but we cannot be sure that they were Bangladeshi or Rohingya until the investigation was completed,” Dr Vijay said.
