Nara Lokesh said Andhra Pradesh is open for business and is inviting global giants to their terrain. “Changes in change become inevitable when global industrial giants align with Andhra’s vision,” he said inviting LG Electronics and its partners, who are bringing cutting-edge technologies to Indian soil, such as AI-DRINGER INDER manufacturing, intelligent production processes and energy-efficient systems.
He said the state government is committed to providing an enabling environment for industrial growth and advanced innovation and said: “Andhra Pradesh is open to business, eager to innovate and ready to transform.”
The minister said the $600 million LG electronics facility is also aligned with the government’s commitment to create local jobs and encourage innovation. He observed: “This is not only the beginning of manufacturing units; it is the foundation of Andhra Pradesh’s future. Andhra Pradesh is becoming the path to becoming a global electronics and electricity company.”
Mr LOKESH added that the investment in the LG electronics factory exceeded Rs 50,000 crore, and the journey from “in Andhra” to “making for the world” continues to maintain strength and purpose, the first major foreign direct investment (FDI) since the founding of the State Alliance Government.
The new plant, with a total area of 220,000 square meters, will generate 1,900 direct and more indirect work over the next four years, in addition to bringing auxiliary tools to the area. Once operated, the plant will have annual production capacity of 800,000 refrigerators, 8.5 lakh washing machines, 1.5 lakh air conditioners and 200,000 air conditioners compressors.
Supplier partners include Ecoria, Kuroda Electric, Heng Sung India, Kyungsung Precision and Taesung Electronics will play an important role in strengthening the supply chain, thereby reducing reliance on imports.
