Texas Earthquake: 5.2 earthquake hits western Texas, EMSC says

The tremor got a widespread sense, extending to 200 miles. According to the EMSC, about 2 million people in the United States and Mexico have experienced earthquakes.
Today's earthquake: Nearby New Mexico also registered earthquakes
When Texas rolled up, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) pointed out another not-far-distant tremor. A 5.3-magnitude earthquake hit New Mexico, about 57 kilometers south of White City.
Although this earthquake did not immediately cause alarms, it increased regional uneasiness. The timing and proximity of the two earthquakes has attracted the attention of locals and authorities.
Aftershock consultation release
After the Texas earthquake, EMSC issued a clear warning to residents. “Unless it is necessary to stay away from damaged areas to ensure you are safe. Be careful and follow the information of national authorities.” The agency also said aftershocks may continue in the coming hours or even days. So far, no significant damage. However, the warning reminds the unpredictability of earthquake events in the region.
Stronger earthquake hit South America
Just the day before the US tremor, Chile and Argentina's southern coasts hit a more powerful earthquake. USGs measure it at an amplitude of 7.4.
This earthquake also occurs at a depth of 10 kilometers and impacts between corner corners and Antarctica. Several smaller aftershocks followed. Due to the strength of the tremor and its underwater location, Chilean authorities issued a tsunami warning to the southernmost part of the country.
Although wave threats were later assessed, initial reactions suggest the severity of seismic activity now approaching the region.
North America is located along the boundaries of tectonic plates, making it a hot spot for seismic activity. Western Texas is located on the border of North American plates, while Chile is part of the Pacific “Ring of Fire” which is one of the most susceptible regions in the world to earthquakes.
Experts continue to monitor these areas closely. While not all earthquakes can cause damage or damage, every incident brings the possibility of damage and reminds the community to be prepared.
