Nashik Kumbh 2027: Preparations for upgrading the city; officials learn from Prayagraj

Nashik will witness plans to build a new sewage treatment plant (STP) and highway as the city prepares to host Nashik Kumbh Mela in 2027, officials said Wednesday.

The government has begun preparations for preparations that may take more than a year to complete, such as roads and other infrastructure to manage the expected huge footprint.

Praveen Gedam, the division commissioner of Nashik, told the city officials that witnessed the preparations and learned from this year’s Prayagraj Maha Kumbh Mela, which ended in Uttar Pradesh on February 26.
“Nashik officials visited the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh and studied the preparations there and on that basis, preparations have started in Nashik as well. The works which may take a year or more than that like highways or STPs (sewage treatment plants), we will do them in the first phase and the rest which are going to take less time like taking 6-8, we will start immediately after that,” Gedam told ANI.

Money has been approved for use in areas developed from Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Road to ensure a popular journey for devotees when they accept them.

“The money has been approved for use in areas developed from Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Road, and the specifications will be completed this week and then work will also begin,” Gaidam said. Prayagraj mahakumbh was organized in the Prayagraj organization in Uttar Pradesh between January 13 and February 26 this year. According to official data released by the Uttar Pradesh government, nearly 700 million devotees from around the world have begun to perform sacred posts in Triveni Sangam. Nashik Kumbh, like Prayagraj’s Kumbh is held every 12 years, people come to take a shower on the banks of the Godavari River.
