The Supreme Court sets a three-month deadline for the president to decide the governor to retain the bill

Four days after the top court cleared 10 bills, Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi stagnated and retained the president’s deliberations and set a timetable for all state lawmakers to act on all bills passed by the state legislature, uploading a 415-page judgment on Apex Court’s website on Friday at 10.54 pm.
“We believe that the timetables set by the Ministry of the Home Office…and that the President must make a decision on the bill reserved by the Governor within three months from the date of receipt of that reference.
“In the case of any delays outside this period, appropriate reasons must be recorded and communicated to the states concerned. The state must also collaborate and expand cooperation by providing answers to queries that can be raised and quickly consider the recommendations made by the central government,” the SC said.
